The Role
In this role at Daylight, you’ll help execute Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and demand response programs nationwide. You’ll develop revenue strategies, optimize asset performance, and support building an internal platform for revenue stacking, analytics, and operational workflows.
You’ll also support energy trading, pricing, and risk management while ensuring compliance with program requirements and internal metrics. You’ll work on partnerships and operational capabilities that improve commercial performance.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Support VPP and demand response execution.
- Develop strategies aligned with business and revenue goals.
- Assist in building an internal VPP scheduling platform.
- Monitor market and regulatory trends.
Asset Optimization
- Manage scheduling, dispatch, pricing, and risk.
- Ensure compliance with BESS warranties and participation requirements.
- Build partnerships with optimization and scheduling platforms.
Market Analytics & Strategy
- Integrate data sources for forecasting, congestion analysis, and revenue modeling.
- Maintain expertise in ISO/RTO markets and trading strategies.
- Assess asset pipeline readiness and create optimization roadmaps.
What we’re looking for
| Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in energy market analytics, trading, commercial operations, or asset optimization.
- Expertise in power markets, risk management, and regulatory requirements (experience with CAISO, NYISO, PJM, and ERCOT is a plus).
- Understanding of state-level programs (e.g., CA DSGS, MA Connected Solutions, MA Clean Peak Standard, etc.).
- Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- A results-oriented individual with a proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload effectively, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Deep knowledge of energy storage optimization, power marketing, revenue forecasting, and market participation strategies.
- Strong data analytics and modeling experience to support decision-making and risk analysis.
