About the Role
Arch is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, ambitious team and help build the future of financial infrastructure. As an early engineer, you’ll play a foundational role in designing, developing, and scaling new products — taking ideas from zero to one and beyond.
This is a high-impact role that spans everything from collaborating with users to deeply understand their workflows, to architecting backend systems, integrating with vendors, and building resilient, observable software. Your technical decisions will shape our platform, development practices, and long-term scalability.
We especially value experience in fintech — whether building lending platforms, financial data infrastructure, payments, or other systems where trust, accuracy, and reliability are paramount.
What You’ll Do
- Define and scope new products alongside engineers, designers, and business stakeholders.
- Architect scalable services, APIs, and frontend applications.
- Own end-to-end execution of features — from idea and design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
- Collaborate closely with design to create clean, intuitive user experiences.
- Evaluate and adopt best-fit tools, frameworks, and vendors to support product and platform growth.
- Develop internal tooling that accelerates development velocity and improves reliability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience at a top tech company or fast-moving startup.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js (or similar modern frontend frameworks).
- Proven ability to independently drive complex projects to completion.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to break down complex product problems into clear, actionable work.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with design, product, and external partners.
- Passion for building in the open: rapid prototyping, iteration, and incorporating user feedback.
- Ownership mindset — you thrive in ambiguous environments and don’t wait to be told what to do.
- Strongly preferred: Experience building fintech products such as lending, payments, trading, or financial data systems.
